an update. there's no midi fest this october. the change to 5.1 is permanent for a while, although a lot of kids are saying october weather is much better than rainy may season... so who knows, who knows. i need something to do now for the national holiday. this sucks. maybe i'll go to tiananmen square and watch them raise the flag, but there's probably a stampede of people during the holidays. ::sigh::
rock n' roll is still an alternative thing in china. there's a steady group of 摇滚青年 (rock youth?), but club fever's caught on, and everyone's turning to 摇摆 (dance/house/trance)... and everywhere i go they're playing that damn song... ah shite, i kind of like it. if you want to take a stab at IDing it for me... here's the song that you'll hear everywhere in Chinese clubs... it ain't english...
i have a question for anyone in europe or know the club scene over there. i know they are big on house/dance, or were, and I'm wondering if this whole club fever is just borrowed from the european club scene?
last, if any of you all are in Beijing and wanna KTV (kidding, kidding, unless you aren't), feel free to give a shout. i'll be around for a whilllllleee. :)
sorry for the lack of music updates, i'm still trying to sort through what the hell is going on here.
